Eighteen organizations, comprising of businesses, colleges, and universities, have signed a letter to the Pennsylvania general assembly urging lawmakers to support policies that combat climate change, including investing in renewable energy and pollution reduction measures.
Pennsylvania has a long way to go to catch up to the greener pastures of states like Massachusetts and Rhode Island, and our neighbors New Jersey and Maryland. SolarPowerRocks.com, a great resource for Renewable Energy Standards throughout the nation, ranks Pennsylvania as 25th - utterly average.
We hope that advocacy groups like this one will encourage the state to consider more policies to promote renewable energy generation and energy conservation, and hold Pennsylvania to a higher, greener standard.
